Tweed, Ontario -- Charley and the boys almost ran the table at the OCA Men's Regionals this past weekend. A very impressive showing by a Cornwall team.
They started the weekend off by beating Greg Richardson from the Rideau Club. They then went on to win their second match against a tough team from Huntley skipped by Jeff Mcrady. Wert advanced to the A Final against former Brier Skip, Brian Cochrane, and dropped a tough match.
The loss moved Wert into the B Final where he played Willie Jeffries. Jeffries went on to win the B Final and advance to the Ontario Provincials along with Brian Cochrane.
Everyone in Cornwall should be proud of the Team, as no other Men's team has ever gone so far in this competition. The team consisted of: Charles Wert (Skip), Jean Charlebois (Third), Patrick Quinn (Second), and Christopher Baker (Lead).
