This upcoming weekend, Alexandria plays host to the 2005 O.C.A. Tim Horton’s Colts, and Cornwall will be well represented. The Cornwall Rink is sending 3 men’s teams to compete in the Zone Play-downs. The O.C.A. (Ontario Curling Association) Colts competition is a provincial event in which men’s teams from all over the province, compete through Zone and Regional Play-downs to finally qualify for the Provincial Finals. The event this weekend in Alexandria is the first step.

The three teams representing Cornwall are: Kevin Baker’s, Jeff Comer’s, and Mark McDonald’s rinks. All three teams have experience playing in the event and expect to do well. Kevin Baker’s Team has moved on the Regional 3 times in the past. Other teams include rinks from Navan, Alexandria, Lancaster, and Maxville.

Two teams will qualify for the Regional Play-downs, which take place the weekend of Feb. 18-20. Cornwall Curling Centre has the honour of hosting that event.
